Rolex Cellini Date
March 04, 2016
Taking its name from Italian Renaissance goldsmith and artist Benvenuto Cellini, the Rolex Cellini Date embodies the intellectual sophistication that characterized the mannerism movement that the artist helped define.
Rolex Cellini Date with Black Dial |
This timepiece exudes classic elegance, pictured here in rose gold with a black dial and black alligator leather strap. Unlike other Rolex models, this Cellini is only available in 18 karat Everose or white gold with either a black or silver dial and a shiny leather strap in either brown or black.
Other unique qualities of this model include an analog date display on a sub-dial in the 3 o'clock position and a double bezel that is both domed and fluted. The hour markers are split down the middle by the minutes, making for another interesting design feature.
Much like its namesake, this Rolex model breaks all the rules but still manages to represent the unnaturally elegant aesthetic of Cellini's work.
