Adam Scott Wins WGC-Cadillac Championship at Trump National Doral
March 07, 2016
Adam Scott won the World Golf Championship's Cadillac Championship in Doral, Florida, on Sunday, March 6th, only a week after winning the Honda Classic in Palm Beach. It was an ugly morning for the golfer, with two double bogies that left him trailing Rory McIlroy going into the back nine.
No one thought he had a chance before the 6th tee, but he managed to close the gap between him and McIlroy on the back nine, putting him just one stroke ahead of Bubba Watson after the 18th hole. Scott finished with par -12, Watson -11 and McIlroy tied with Danny Willet at -10. Jordan Spieth, ranked No. 1 in the world, finished 17th at -1.

Most of the media coverage, however, was centered around Donald Trump, whose chopper landed on the Red Tiger golf course on Sunday afternoon. The polemic presidential hopeful agreed to stand on the sidelines while Scott was presented with his trophy, but all eyes were on him as he indulged fans by signing campaign hats and smiling and pointing at people who voiced support for his campaign.
